Nature Monuments

Navenakhevi Cave Natural Monument

Attraction: A 250 meter high, two storey cave comprised of four caverns, where there

are diverse and beautifully formed stalagmites and stalactites.


Location:
Terjola municipality, close to the village of Navenakhevi, 320 meters above

sea level.

Coordinates: N42 14.507 E42 51.783

How to get there: The closest town to the natural monument is Kutaisi, which is 230 km from

Tbilisi; duration – 3 hours by car.

Tbilisi – Kutaisi central highway- Navanakhevi Cave Natural Monument – 7 km; duration – 15

minutes.

Tsutskhvati Cave Natural Monument
Tsutskhvati Cave, so-called “Maghara” by locals is located in Okriba-Argveti Valley. It
has 13 floors. The first floor is not available for visitors, it is covered with River Chishura.
The second floor is the tunnel within the length of 200 meters, width 10-30 meters,
height – 10-28 meters.

The second floor (main wave) is characterized by the enormous natural tunnel (length -
200 m, width - 10-30 m, height 10-28 m). Water in it only flows during the Shabaatghal
flood. The tunnel branches are sources, a small lake, a calcite piece of shapes. The
staircase attached to the man is saved - the remnants of the old religious building.

Fourth floor is the caves without water. There are discovered archeological monuments.
The most noteworthy are: 1.Bronze Cave (5 th floor), 2. Upper Cave (9 th floor), 3. Three
caves that was expenditure in feudal era.
Tsutskhvati Cave is one of the ancient cave in Georgia.

Location: Tskaltubo Municipality, village Tsutskhvati, River Chishura Valley, 320
meters above sea level.

How to get there: The closest town to the natural monument is Kutaisi, which is 230 km from
Tbilisi; duration – 3 hours by car. Tbilisi is far from Kutaisi by 230 km. Kutaisi – Tsutskhvato –
24.3 km, duration: 40 minutes.

Mukhura Cave Natural Monument

Sightseeing: Three cascade waterfall is located on the Eastern slope of the cave. There are one
small and one big lake. The shores are covered by broadleaf forest. There are endemic species
habitats, specifically: Caucasian zoo moles.

Location: Tkibuli Municipality, village Mukhura’s nearby territory, 886 meters above seal level.

How to get there: The closest place to natural monument is city Tkibuli, which is 236
km far from Tbilisi. Duration: 3 hours.

Nazodelavo Cave

Sightseeing: Natural Monument is one of the distinguished place within the length of 600 meters. The cave consists of canyons. The depth of the canyon is 7-8 meters in some places.

Location: Chkhorotsku Municipality, village Akhuti’s nearby territory, 290 meters above sea level.

How to get there: The closest location to natural monument is Chkhorotsku, which is 334 km far from Tbilisi. Duration: 4 hours and 30 minutes.
Chkhorotsku – Village Akhuti – 12.5 km, duration: 30 minutes. Village Akhuti – Nazodelavo Cave Natural Monument – 6.8 km, duration- 30 minutes.

Gelati Monastery Complex

Gelati Monastery Complex- XII century Gelati Monastery complex is located in village Gelati of Tkibuli Municipality. The monument is protected by UNESCO as world heritage site. In order to get to Gelati, you must take the road from Kutaisi toward Tkibuli. It is necessary to take course from Kutaisi to Tkibuli. Distance from Kutaisi central square to Gelati Monastery complex is 8.5 km.

Motsameta Church

X century Motsameta church is located in village Motsameta of Tkibuli Municipality. In order to get to Motsameta you must go from Kutaisi toward the direction of Tkibuli. The distance from Kutaisi central square to Motsameta Church 6 km. You must get off the car and cover the last 500 m of your trip on foot.

Bagrati Church

XI century Bagrati Church is located in the city of Kutaisi. The monument is protected by UNESCO as a world heritage site. In order to get to Bagrati you must depart from the Red Bridge toward the settlement of Gora. The distance from the Red Bridge to the church is 1 km.
