

According to ancient local traditions, pigs are taboo for local people and for this reason, food made from pork is forbidden in Tusheti. Local people consider it disrespectful for visitors to bring pork to Tusheti.

Tusheti is a remote region, and as such there are no amenities such as petrol stations, pharmacies, beauty salons, banks, ATMs or currency exchanges booths.

Twisted path goes down Omalo Sadzakhebeli hill to Khakhabo floodplain, goes though Alazani by steep ascent to village Khakhabo. The path leads to Kekhi, with the scenery of Gometseri Chanchakhovani and Chagma valleys, Tushetian villages.
The trail runs down to broad-leaved forests, moves to Ortskali bridge followed by Gogrulta. Gogrulta is located on east hill of Saalmi Mountain. It is remarkable that V century tombs were discovered during local works. The trail runs from Gogrulta to Dochu floodplain. Dochu is located of rock ledge. It is distinguished by three-story houses with balconies.
Overnight is possible in guest-houses of village Dochu.
Village Dochu - Gogorata - stream – village Omalo / Visitor's Center 17 km.
The trail crosses Gometseri car-road and goes along alpine zone of Sakheo. Afterwards it runs to east, on sledge road, through Gogorata hill to the stream. Gometseri-Pirikita watershed hill overlooks valleys Pirikita, Chagma and Gometseri. The trail goes to lower Omalo and heads to Upper Omalo plateau. Afterwards it runs down lower Omalo. There is a lot of potable water spots along the route.
